    1. Racially in India there are neither Dravidians, not Aryans. North Indians are termed Aryo-Dravidian by D.N. Mazumdar, South Indians are called Dravido-Aryans and East Indians - Mongolo-Dravidians. But this is again a dated work. Indigenous tribes in India were not Dravidian but Mundas and Santhals - Australoid race. The language group Elamo-Dravidian suggests that Dravidians migrated into India from South Persia (the Elam kindgom was in ancient South Persia). Aryans are believed to have migrated from Central Asia or Persia. As per genetic tests (Genome Project) only people of a small portion of Tamil Nadu (not the whole of Tamil Nadu but about 1/3 to 1/4th) are racially distinct from the rest of Indians to indicate alternate origins. The entire Aryan vs. Dravidian argument was a British imperialist construct of divide and rule to sow hatred between North Indians and South Indians and also suggest that Dalits and Upper castes are racially different (which is not true) which was later picked up by enthusiastic South Indian career politicians for their own political agenda, caste-based politicians for their own political agenda and leftists of various hues because of their usual hatred for roots and traditions. The whole racial discourse and its crooked linking up with regional differences in skin color or differences in skin color among castes is an unfortunate colonial construct. The evidence from archaeology, literature, historical records, linguistics, physical anthropology and genomics point in the opposite direction. Some things that seem to lend support to 'race theory' have been over interpreted - pure speculation, whereas historians have avoid examining contrary evidence. The term 'Arya' did not mean race but 'noble' much like the word 'Sirji'. The term 'Dravida means land of the confluence of 'three oceans'. The term 'Dasyu' doesn't mean 'Das' just because it sounds close (politically motivated speculation). And the term 'Das' itself meant servant not slave.

    4. Unlikely. Even under your various - and even offensive (to me, at least - I regard The Ramayan as History) - assumptions. Remove the words "assume Ramayan was real", and you and me are just fine.\

First off. it is very clear indeed in The Ramayan that Ravan was from illustrious Brahmin stock (not saying non-Brahmins werent - or aren't illustrious, or that dravidians arent brahmins or illustrious); the brother of Kuber. There is no evidence of any Dravidian links; indeed - there is no evidence of any aryan or dravidian or any such race inferences. If skin colour is the criterion, then be informed that even the Lord Krishna is considered shyaam-varaneeya - or dark-skinned. Should we then assume that The Lord was Dravidian? There is no evidence to support either hypothesis

Second, the timeline involved is also ambiguous. But one thing is certain: they predate the drying of the Saraswati, which is now known to have dried up around 1900 BC. The drying up is supposed to have begun some hundreds of years earlier; thus the Mahabharata is clearly 3000 - 2000 BC; The Ramayan is said to refer to The Saraswati as a mighty river; we further know that The Ramayan predates The Mahabharata by quite a long time. This would place the Ramayan prior to 3000 BC. There are other evidences - but most people here would find them hard to digest - but fact remains the astronomical anaylsis of the star positions mentioned in The Ramayan state only 3 possible star combinations - and none come close to the earlier dates. I need more corroboration on this; so not stating the aging - but suffice it to state that The Ramayan is far, far older than imagined, We already have the hard scientific evidence of the Saraswati river to corroborate. But convincing our educated younger generation will take a lot more than this!!!!!

Moving on, from the above we can see that we are looking at a timeline of something at a bare minimum of 5000 years ago. Let us add one more scientific data: The Indus-Saraswati Civilization has now been officially dated to 7280 BC - This was declared on 5th November 2012 by the ASI.. Add to this the possibility of precise descriptions of the settlements of the Indus-Saraswati in the Mahabharata. Add to this the data presented above - and one can see a picture emerging; at no point in this picture does skin colour or race feature. What it does clear is the timeline - we are looking at a timeline that can be anytime between 7000 BC to 2500 BC at the latest for the Mahabharat, and 7000 BC to 3500 BC for the Ramayan, Beyond that, there is no mention of race or skin colour etc. We must hence assume that this was not an important factor then; that given the geographical spread of the Ramayan, both were involved. There is nothing in the historical record from this period to guide us either; there is nothing in the spiritual record as well.

Vedic Literature does not go beyond this; neither does science. Yes, Scientific Analysis of Vedic Literature - taken alone - takes us far, far beyond; but this would require a true Vedic Scholar... with a doctorate in science. This would corroborate some of the datings and other evidence presented elsewhere on the internet...

That Aryans are core Indian subcontinental stock is beyond dispute - this has been established in a genetic research conducted across Europe and Asia. It was found that the Aryans originated around Gujarat. We also know that Ravan was closely connected to the Yadu race, which was from around Maharashtra and Gujarat. But that is as far as it goes. No one can say for certain as to whether he was dravidian or not!

A comparison of anglo-saxon settlement when romans invaded them, and later on, anglo-saxons choosing king arthur, a romanic king of english world will help us to bring light on ravan's rise in the non aryan world.

Ravan was a brahman, so by all means, he was an aryan. He was also known as a vedic scholar, so he is a vedic brahman, and was a shiva bhakta.
Yes, there were migrations of aryans, long time back. I will not disagree with this. From where these migrations happened, that cannot be confirmed, and people play politics on this.
I have no problem with ravan being the kings of those world, called as dravida or nether world, because, he was elected by the natives of these lands.
And since, he was a brahman king, hence, defeated indra, who was king of brahmans(deva, aryans). Remember, we are in vedic period, means, brahmans were rulers/lords/supreme. After indra got defeated by ravan, capital shifted to lanka. After all, he is a ruler, and all rulers aspire to become JAGATPATI or lord of the world. Not to forget, there are many indras.
Now what happened? Defeated indra then goes to rishis, that I have been defeated by ravan who is king of non aryans. Kindly help me to avenge this defeat.

But then, there was one person at ravan's house, Bibhishana , who was pro aryan. Everyone loves to rule at the end of the day. There is no right or wrong, when it comes to ruling. Only end justifies the means.

And this is how the battle begins. The capital then shifted to ayodhaya. After ayodhaya, the capital shifted to hastinapura, then, a war where all the commnoers or working class revolted under the leadership of krishna took place. This is known as the war of mahabharata, thus ending the vedic era and vedic civilization. Whatever hinduism we see now days is not vedic, though, sunga etc tried to revive it. We no longer have that aryan vedism.

So politicizing these events will be of no help, because, battle of civilizations never stop.
