He has started
From the south to the North
Embracing the questions
Those have no answers
Planes, choppers, bulletproof
cars
Though all are at his disposal
Treading dusty path
He has started…!
Taking disadvantage of the crowd
Where his father was
Assassinated
Tearing him to the shreds
Trusting the same people
Fearlessly, he has started
through them
Making violent sentiments feel ashamed!
Long ago O I have heard
The kings and the emperors
With huge armies would march on
For the wars to distant places
And ruthlessly
Beheading enemy
Would spill the blood
But unarmed he is
The immense love and humanitarian
dialogue
Are his only weapons
He doesn’t speak of winning the
states
Doesn’t speak of winning
elections
Crossing all boundaries
To go beyond mundane politics
Embracing all likeminded
He has started!
His arms spread open
To embrace those
Lonely in the system
And destitute with dreams shattered
Consoling them
With the warmth of selfless love
Like a sage
He has started!
In him people see
Sympathetic elder
Or loving brother,
Adorable son to some
The man in his fifties
Is a close relative to all
Whom they can trust
Such a march of love…
Spreading the message of affection
He has started!
When he embraces
People cry in unbearable agonies
Those are caused by the system
And the gloom of hatred…distrust…
Let out helpless tears
Of their sufferings
And feeling deep consolation
Smile with the hope of tomorrow!
What is the use of this march?
What use is talking to people?
Some ask in mockery
The same questions were raised
When Mahatma's Dandi march had began
And when Baba Amte had started
His mission to connect people
History has sufficiently answered
Such
Ridiculing questions!
